Home Garage Car Lifts

Want a car lift in your home garage? AFS sells and installs home garage lifts across New York City, Long Island and Westchester: 4-post storage lifts that park a second car above the first, 2-post lifts for working on your own cars, and low-rise lifts for tight spaces. We are an authorized BendPak dealer and installer, and our own crew does every install.

Which home garage lift is right for you?

  • 4-post storage lift: the easiest choice for most home garages. It stands on the floor without anchoring in many setups, parks one car above another and is great for oil changes and storage. See 4-post lifts.
  • 2-post lift: opens up the wheels and suspension for real repair work. It needs a solid concrete slab and enough ceiling height. See 2-post lifts.
  • Low-rise and mid-rise lifts: for low ceilings, tire and brake work, and garages where a full-height lift won't fit. See scissor and low-rise lifts.

What we check before installing

  • Ceiling height: measure from the floor to the lowest point (garage door opener, door track, beams). Send it to us and we'll tell you which lifts fit.
  • Concrete slab: 2-post lifts need a solid slab of the right thickness and strength. We check it before we drill.
  • Power: most home lifts run on 110V or 220V. We'll confirm what your lift needs and what your garage has.
  • Garage size: width and depth for the lift, the cars and room to walk around.

Frequently asked questions

Do you install car lifts in residential garages?

Yes. AFS installs lifts in home garages across NYC, Long Island and Westchester, not just in repair shops.

How much ceiling height do I need for a home car lift?

It depends on the lift and your cars. 4-post storage lifts usually need the most height to stack two cars. Low-rise lifts fit under almost any ceiling. Send us your ceiling height and car models and we'll recommend a lift.

Does a 4-post lift need to be bolted to the floor?

Many 4-post storage lifts are freestanding, which makes them a good fit for home garages. We'll tell you whether yours needs anchoring.

Can you service or inspect the lift after it's installed?

Yes. We offer lift inspections and lift repairs for home and shop lifts.
