A lift that's down is a bay that isn't earning. Automotive Facility Service repairs two-post, four-post, scissor and alignment lifts for shops across Long Island, New York City and Westchester, on most major brands, including lifts we didn't install.
Common repairs
- Hydraulic leaks: cylinders, hoses, fittings and seals
- Power units and motors that won't start, hum or lift slowly
- Safety locks that don't engage, or engage on one side only
- Worn or frayed lifting and equalizer cables
- Damaged arms, arm restraints, pads and adapters
- Uneven lifting, chatter and leveling problems
- Electrical controls, switches and overhead shutoff bars
- Anchor and concrete problems around the columns
How a repair visit works
- Call us and describe what the lift is doing. Photos or a short video help.
- Diagnosis on site. We find the cause and give you a clear price before we start.
- Repair and test. We fix it, cycle the lift under load and check every lock.
We keep common parts and lifts in stock at our Bohemia, NY warehouse, which shortens the wait for many repairs.
When to stop using a lift
Take the lift out of service right away if a cable is frayed, a lock won't catch, the lift drops or drifts, or you see cracked concrete at a column. Then call us.
Repair or replace?
If a lift is old, parts are no longer made or the repair costs more than a large share of a new lift, we'll tell you plainly and quote both options. See car lift installation.
Keep it running
An annual lift inspection catches most problems before they shut a bay down.
Areas we serve
Suffolk, Nassau, Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Manhattan, Staten Island and Westchester.
Frequently asked questions
What are the signs a car lift needs repair?
Call us if the lift drifts down, lifts unevenly, makes grinding or popping noises, leaks hydraulic fluid, has frayed or slack cables, or the locks do not engage on every stop. Do not keep using a lift that shows these signs.
Do you repair lifts you did not sell or install?
Yes. We repair BendPak, Amgo, Tuxedo, OMER, Coats and most other major brands of two-post, four-post, scissor and alignment lifts, wherever you bought them.
How does a lift repair visit work?
Tell us the brand, model and what the lift is doing. We diagnose it on site, quote the repair before starting, then fix and test it before handing the bay back.
Can you keep my lifts from breaking down?
Yes. Regular maintenance and an annual lift inspection catch worn cables, leaking cylinders and loose anchors before they take a bay out of service.
Do you repair lifts in New York City?
Yes. We repair lifts across all five boroughs, Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester. See our service areas.
