Auto Shop Floor Leveling and Concrete Repair

A lift is only as safe as the concrete it is anchored to. Automotive Facility Service repairs and levels shop floors for auto repair shops, collision centers, tire shops and fleet garages across Long Island, New York City and Westchester, so lifts, alignment racks, tire equipment and booths go in level and anchored right. Our own crew does the concrete work, then installs the equipment, from start to finish.

When your floor needs work

  • Cracked, broken or spalled concrete where lifts are anchored
  • Floors too thin for the lift maker's anchoring requirements
  • Uneven or sloped bays that throw off alignment and lift leveling
  • Old in-ground lift pits or trenches that need to be filled or rebuilt

What we do

  • Check slab thickness and condition where each piece of equipment will go
  • Cut out and replace bad sections and pour new footings for lift columns
  • Level and patch floors so equipment sits flat and true
  • Fill or rebuild old pits, and dig new ones for flush-mount lifts

Equipment we work with

We install and service equipment from BendPak, Coats, AccuDraft, Amgo, Tuxedo, OMER and other manufacturers, and AFS sells much of it from our Bohemia, NY warehouse.

Frequently asked questions

How thick does concrete need to be for a car lift?

Most 2-post lifts call for at least 4 inches of sound concrete, and heavier lifts need more. Always follow the lift maker's specifications. We check the slab before installing and pour new footings where it falls short.

Can you fix my floor before installing a lift?

Yes. The AFS crew does the concrete work in-house and then installs the lift, so one company is responsible for the whole job.

Why does a level floor matter?

Lifts, alignment racks and wheel equipment need a level base to work accurately and safely. An uneven floor can make lifts rise unevenly and throw off alignments.

Do you fill old lift pits?

Yes. We can fill old in-ground lift pits and trenches, or rebuild them for a new lift.
